Commander's Corner
Legionnaires
I hope your summer has went well. We have some events going on at our Legion. On September 20th, we will be hosting a Ruck March carrying can goods from the Legion to the Food Shelf in Becker. Donations can be brought to the Legion between 3 pm and 7 pm the week before. Canned and Dry goods only, please. We will also except monetary donations. Then out second event is the SAL’s dinner, music and games event on September 27th. Proceeds will be going to the Becker Food Shelf. They got land from the city but now need to build a new building. Many donations are needed for this to happen.
Yearly membership dues are being excepted. We are at about 45%. We are having our membership dinner on October 11th from 6-8 pm and it will be catered this year so we will need each member to RSVP in advance from all who are coming. The meal is free to all members who have paid their 2026 dues. RSVP’s will be accepted up until September 30th.
Our first gun raffle is in full swing and the drawing will be held on October 14th at our monthly meeting. We have tickets left so see Mick Boll at our September 9th Meeting to get some tickets to sell. Almost all of the money earned by the raffles goes to youth groups in our area. So, keep that in mind when you’re buying and selling tickets.
Work is being done on out bay area. Sound abatement and the lighting is being upgraded. We hope to use the new and improved bay for events in the future.

Tom Lee

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for our many blessings every day.
Lord, I pray for safety to return to this state and nation. Lord, I lift up to you in prayer all those hurting for any reason and healing for all. Lord Jesus, I pray your loving and guiding hands be upon all, especially those in need such as those in public office so they remember they are to work for us all. Lord, please help this nation return to “One Nation Under God”!
God Bless all of you!
God Bless America!

Auxiliary President's Corner
Auxiliary,
Well, it’s September and fall is on the way. Please look for the dates of the membership dinner inside this newsletter. We hope to see you there. At some point in time you will be seeing a 2026 membership dues mailing come to your house and you will also be able to pay them at the membership dinner held at the Legion Hall. As usual, if you have any questions, concerns, ideas suggestions - please contact Nellie or Paula and we will bring them up for consideration. Hope you all had a great summer and hope to see you soon.
Sincerely,
Paula Hinds

Sons of The American Legion
Greetings Sons,
This last month was fairly quiet for us in terms of events but not the planning and organizing of future events. In September alone, we now have two events to support the Food Shelf, our recipients meeting to plan out our yearly distribution of funds, Guns n Cupcakes, and the start of football season. It has been a chore to keep everything in line.
Speaking of 'in line', over Labor Day Weekend, Dave Anderson was at it again, fixing up the bay. He hung the brackets for the sound abatement. Next will be hanging the sound system all while Hubard Electric replaces the lights. Our space is really coming along. Come take a look. We even have some new art on the walls provided by the High School Art Department.
Back on events, planning for our 5th annual concert is well underway for September 27th. Grace Lutheran and Robotics will be back to help with food and drinks. DJ Freedom will be providing music along with the Sauk Rapids Jazz Band to kick off the night. Proceeds will go to the Food Shelf.
In addition to the concert, our newest member, Chris Sam will be hosting a Ruck March on the 20th. This will hopefully not only deliver donations to the Food Shelf but also invite younger veterans and their families to get involved with the Legion. Youth groups such as Robotics, Archery, and the Becker Marching Band will also be involved to show support.
Our next meeting will be on the 16th, right between Country Council on Monday and our recipients meeting on Wednesday. It will be our annual Guns n Cupcakes event so bring your arms and a dish to pass. The range will open at 5 pm with the meeting/meal to follow at 7 pm. This year, I will be training members in firing squad etiquette. We will be using the Legion Springfields and blanks. Please let me know if you are interested.
These are just a few things starting this month. We will also be starting up with Toys-for-Tots very soon as they are moving to a new location and need help before they start the drive. Our Fall Craft Sale will be on November 22nd & 23rd. We have 6 crafters so far which is a good start but we can use more. All this in amongst football and our 3rd Saturday Lunchens. We will be busy this fall so if you have the time, we can use your help. I hope everyone is doing well and I get to see you all soon.
For God and Country,
Andrew J. Lee
