Newsletter - November 2025

Commander's Corner

Legionnaires

Due to Veterans Day falling on our meeting day, we are changing our meeting to November 12th.That will give everybody who wants to get some of the special offering to vets a chance to do that. It is our belief that there would not be many people at our meeting because of this.

On Veterans Day we will be posting colors at the schools 0815 at the HS 0855 at the MS 0940 at the IS and 1015 at the PS. Join us for these events especially if you have family in these schools. Also wear something showing that you are a vet. The Robotics team will serve breakfast at 0730.

Membership is due and it would be nice to get this completed. This is just a reminder, and if you know of a friend or relative who is a veteran ask him or her why they never joined the legion, and let us know the reason. We would like to make the legion, a welcoming place.

The SAL unit at our post has a luncheon on the 3rd Saturday of the month. It is served by one of our local youth organizations, with the proceeds going to them. Come and support the SAL and the youth of our community. They serve from 1100 to 1530, and the youth group in November is ARCHERY.

Chaplain's Corner

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for all the many blessings you share upon us each and every day. We just ask a special blessing upon those people that are pursuing the deer hunting or any other kind of hunting that they be kept safe. May those ladies that stay home have a fun time as well and a safe time.

Lord, I pray that you can rectify the situation where we have people that get paid, but don’t go to their job. I just ask that your loving hands remedy this situation, Lord. Then we can become one country under God again.

Lord, I also pray that you help us keep those people are in need, warm and safe. We have so many that could use the help. We just need your help to guide us all in Jesus’ Holy Name. This I definitely do pray, Thank You Lord.

God Bless all of you!

God Bless America!

Sons of The American Legion

Greetings Sons,

This last month was fairly quiet for us in terms of events but not the planning and organizing of future events. In September alone, we now have two events to support the Food Shelf, our recipients meeting to plan out our yearly distribution of funds, Guns n Cupcakes, and the start of football season. It has been a chore to keep everything in line.

Speaking of 'in line', over Labor Day Weekend, Dave Anderson was at it again, fixing up the bay. He hung the brackets for the sound abatement. Next will be hanging the sound system all while Hubard Electric replaces the lights. Our space is really coming along. Come take a look. We even have some new art on the walls provided by the High School Art Department.

Back on events, planning for our 5th annual concert is well underway for September 27th. Grace Lutheran and Robotics will be back to help with food and drinks. DJ Freedom will be providing music along with the Sauk Rapids Jazz Band to kick off the night. Proceeds will go to the Food Shelf.

In addition to the concert, our newest member, Chris Sam will be hosting a Ruck March on the 20th. This will hopefully not only deliver donations to the Food Shelf but also invite younger veterans and their families to get involved with the Legion. Youth groups such as Robotics, Archery, and the Becker Marching Band will also be involved to show support.

Our next meeting will be on the 16th, right between Country Council on Monday and our recipients meeting on Wednesday. It will be our annual Guns n Cupcakes event so bring your arms and a dish to pass. The range will open at 5 pm with the meeting/meal to follow at 7 pm. This year, I will be training members in firing squad etiquette. We will be using the Legion Springfields and blanks. Please let me know if you are interested.

These are just a few things starting this month. We will also be starting up with Toys-for-Tots very soon as they are moving to a new location and need help before they start the drive. Our Fall Craft Sale will be on November 22nd & 23rd. We have 6 crafters so far which is a good start but we can use more. All this in amongst football and our 3rd Saturday Luncheons. We will be busy this fall so if you have the time, we can use your help. I hope everyone is doing well and I get to see you all soon.

For God and Country,

Andrew J. Lee SAL Commander
