Commander's Corner
Legionnaires,
I hope everyone is reading the Newsletter on our website. We have a lot going on starting May 1st with a dinner served by the Auxiliary plus an Open House dance with a band. Please mark your calendar and join us. Our next meeting is May 12th and we are electing new officers. Come to the meeting and lend your enthusiastic support to those stepping up to serve.
Next in May are the Memorial Day services on the 25th. This is one of our most important events. We will be calling all of our Honor Guard members to participate. We will be at all the usual cemeteries that we serve. Our next Honor Guard assignment will be at the Becker High School Graduation on May 29th Thanks to all who help in these events.
Our raffle tickets are here and we have been selling them. More hands to help make the work easier, so see Mick and get some tickets to sell or come to events and meetings and buy one for yourself. There are great prizes to be won.
Finally, if anyone knows of and elderly person with a displayed flag that is in need of replacement let us know we would like to help replace it.
For God and Country,
Tom Lee

Auxiliary President's Corner
Auxiliary,
Hello, it’s already May and things are gearing up for the summer. On Monday, May 25, we will be celebrating Memorial Day a time to honor all military personnel who died in service and the unofficial start of summer. Just a heads up, if anyone is able to help serve on Memorial Day or able to provide a dessert to share with the community that would be wonderful - Please let Nellie or Paula know. Also, we are looking to increase our numbers in the auxiliary. If you know someone that would like to become a member you can see an auxiliary member at the different functions going on over the next couple of months. Please note this July 4 2026. is a really big celebration, 250 years that the United States of America has been a country. Wear your red on Fridays to bring awareness to America and all who fought for your freedoms. As always, thank you for helping us and giving of your time.
Hope you have a safe and blessed Memorial Day!
God bless America.
Sincerely,
Paula Hinds president
Sons of The American Legion
Greetings Sons,
How is it that these openings are usually the hardest part to write? I tend to rinse and repeat the same beats and often become a broken record. Well, in lieu of a snappy opener, I will say that I hope everyone is doing well and just jump right into the month’s happenings.
The Becker Robotic had a good showing at their annual Granite City Region. Becker won, in fact and then moved on to the World Competitions in Huston, TX. We posted colors on the 10th and 11th and looked mighty fine. I would like to thank
everyone who participated. You represented our Squadron well.
Simultaneously, our last 3rd Saturday Lunch for the season was on the 11th. The Archery team had a good staff of energetic parents and kids. We were glad to have them and look forward to working with them next season.
This year’s spring craft sale was arguably our best one yet! We had a full roster of crafters and a steady stream of patrons. The grill staff was kept busy as well serving made to order hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks, chips and donuts. More than once, I was asked if we might dona third craft sale in the summer. We'll have to think that over.
Our next meeting will be on 19 May. Nominations of officers for the following year were submitted in April. This month, those nominations will have to be accepted and voted on. If you wish to have a say in our management or want to throw your hat in, this would be the meeting to make.
For God and Country,
