Commander's Corner

Legionnaires:

Because of the Township election and a St. Cloud School District Special Referendum election in the building we are moving our meetings in both of the next two months. The March meeting will on March 18th and the April meeting will be on April 15th.

From last month’s meeting:

Motion to pass the following contributions: $50 to 9th District Legion Band, $100 to the Becker School Bass Fishing Club. Received quote for sound baffling (deadening) for the bay area ($1482 plus tax) – to be discussed this next month.

For Freedom Day arrangements: June 13 – Band plays 6:30 to 10pm, Legion & Auxiliary will serve hamburgers, beans & fixings. Lions will serve beer. An area non-profit is sponsoring the band (Elvis impersonator) and they will also be running an auction (both open bid and live auction) with proceeds to go to the Legion General fund which can be used for continued work on our post home. Please come and support this for the good of our Legion Post.

We will continue to sell raffle tickets starting next week to raise money for our gambling fund (goes to outside grants and donations only). Mick and Dennis will be available over the next couple of weeks to hand out tickets. Please consider taking 1 or 2 books to sells to your family, friends and neighbors for the good of our community.

On June 14th, the Legion & Auxiliary will be selling walking tacos and hot nachos. SAL will be selling ice cream sundaes and root beer floats. The band on the 14th will be Stone Road. Food will be served after the parade.

For sick call…Marty Immerman and Tim Hinds continue to battle illnesses. Remember, the next meeting is March 18th at 7pm. All are welcome. I’ll remember to make the coffee this time. We want to hear every voice (suggestions welcome).

For God & Country,

Commander John C Riebel, Sr.

Chaplain's Corner

Dear Lord, Heavenly Father, thank you for all our many blessings daily!

Lord I pray for this great country, “One Nation Under God”, and I pray for our elected officials and those appointed to follow through and complete their duties in a honest manner.

Lord, may all our prayers be heard by our Savior, Jesus Christ and come to pass through the workings of the Holy Spirit during this Lenten season.

God Bless all of You! God Bless America!

Chaplain Tim

Auxiliary President's Corner

Hello Ladies,

Looks like March has some green showing. Our monthly meetings are resuming in March. Please get your 2025 dues in if you have not already done so.

A few dates to remember 3-5 Ash Wednesday, daylight savings time begins on 3-9 and St. Patrick's Day on Monday 3-17-2025.

Please keep on eye on your family, friends and neighbors-just a quick hello ~ are you doing okay is vital. We pray for healing for everyone who has caught the various bugs going around. Get well soon. Prayers for all who are battling health issues too.

If anyone has any questions, concerns, thoughts, ideas on how we can continue to keep the auxiliary in motion please contact Paula Hinds or Nellie Simpson.

Thank you so much and God bless.

Paula Hinds

Sons of The American Legion

Greetings Sons,

The topic this month is the change in meeting date. As the township election is on the Legion regular meeting night, the SAL will also shift one week to meet on March 25th. Please come if you can.

We are focusing on getting uniforms for those who want them.

Secondly, out Spring Craft Sale event has been posted. Flyers will go out as soon as they are printed. Spaces are still available for rent, so if you or anyone you know would like to reserve one, please let me know.

Lastly, our February 3rd Saturday Luncheon went very well. The change in menu was well received and brought up a number of good ideas to try in the future. In March, we will be working with the Becker Marching Band alongside the Clank n Thud tournament. We hope to see many of you on March 15th from 11am-3pm.

For God and Country,

Andrew J. Lee SAL Commander
