Commander's Corner
Legionnaires,
We had our Post election at the last meeting. This next year’s officers will be: Lee Croul as Commander, Steve Pikala as 1st Vice, Denny Bartel as 2nd Vice, LeRoy Weeres as Treasurer, Tim Hinds as Chaplin, Mark Swanson as Judge Advocate, and Dennis Rzeszotarski Sgt. at Arms. They will be installed at our next meeting on June 9th. Pizza and beer will be provided.
Memorial Day went well and a fine lunch was served by the Auxiliary. My thanks to all who served in the ceremonies and the lunch. Also, thanks to the Boy Scouts who helped cook, bus tables and clean up.
Next is posting of colors at BHS graduation. After that, it’s Freedom Days festivities on June 19th and 20th. Join in on the fun at these events and bring a friend, see you there.

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for our many blessings you shed upon us daily. Thank you, Lord for our chance to build community during our Memorial celebrations.
Thank You Lord for granting us the opportunity to share with all gathered that we have not forgotten those before us who gave ALL!
I ask Lord that your loving and guiding hands to be upon all those still standing tall for us here, may we never lose sight of the goal we may be called to fulfill.
I will always and continue to prayer for all active and those supportive members that make this country special!

Auxiliary President's Corner
Auxiliary,
A big Thank- You to everyone who made our Memorial Day celebration a success. God Bless all past, present and future veterans. May we always honor those who came before and fought for our country.
From the Am Legion honor guard, Becker High School band, people responsible for cemetery setup, Becker Scout Troop 92, the Auxiliary, SAL and Am Legion members along with the community that came out. Thanks to you and everyone who played a part putting the luncheon together. We could not of done it without you. Blessed to have many helping hands.
Help is needed Friday night Freedom Days weekend. Auxiliary will be doing the meal, help is needed in the serving line. Saturday will be “walking tacos” again help is needed to serve. Please consider stepping up to help. As usual if you have questions or need to get ahold of an Auxiliary officer see Nellie or Paula. Thank you - God Bless.
God bless America.
Sincerely,
Paula Hinds, President

Greetings Sons,
This issue will be published just after Memorial Day so I feel it is a good time to speak on it. As a non-veteran, I am humbled each year over the ceremony and the number of citizens who choose to share it with us. Memorial Day is a continual reminder that collectively, some wounds never fully heal.
I have marched with this post for roughly 30 years now and I am very proud of every member of our Legion family who have been by my side. This feeling is exemplified most during funerals and other memorial services. Each of you, past and present have really made the grade.
Moving forward, we will be hitting it hard with a number of events in a short amount of time. Graduation will be on May 29th at 1830. June 5th is the Marching Band Preview. Dinner starts at 1700, meet up time is 1600. This leads into the following weekend of the 20th & 21st which is Freedom Days. We'll need a good number of volunteers for marching in the parade and selling food.
3 weekends of public services and long hours. Not something for the light of heart but those are the standards this family has consistently risen to & surpassed.
Our next meeting will be on June 16th. Flag disposal is scheduled for 1800 & the SAL meeting will be at 1900. We will be swearing in our officers for the year & even adding to the roster. In past years, a number of us have been pulling double duty but we now have enough to spread the responsibilities around. This year we have a new Chaplin & for the 1st time ever, we will have a 1st & 2nd Vice-Commander position. It is an exciting time to call Squadron 193 home. I look forward to what we will accomplish in the coming year.
For God and Country,
