Commander's Corner
Legionaries-
This is my first newsletter and it is coming out later than I wanted. We are trying to fix some things in building to make it so we can have some new events here. There are a lot of things in the works.
Membership is key to the survival of this or any organization. I hope and pray we as a legion can find ways to bring in the young vets in our area. The best way I can think of is; to do things that their families can enjoy and participate in. We had some good things happening in the last year. Freedom Day’s was good for us even with the weather problems. The SAL have shown us how to make money and serve the community. I believe we can expand on that.
I am planning on going to the state convention on 07/11/25 to 07/13-25. I can make a report at the August meeting. This will be my first time attending so I am interested to see what I can learn.
We are having a gun raffle. We started selling tickets on Freedom Days. Come to the meeting on the on the 8th and pick up some tickets to sell or at least buy one in support of the Legion. 400 tickets are being printed, $20 a piece for a chance at one of 3 guns and a knife.
My thanks to all that work hard to make this post better.

Heavenly Father thank you for our many blessings each day.
Lord, I pray your loving and guiding hands to be upon those in our ranks that need your touch, as well as our country leaders for clarity of mind and actions that we may say again, “In God We Trust”, One Nation Under God!
Lord, I also lift up in prayer all persons for a blessed and safe summer and a Happy Fourth of July in our Saviors name, Jesus Christ. May we always be mindful of those close to us!
Blessings Always!
God Bless all of you!
God Bless America!

Our busy two months have ended. The Memorial Day luncheon, food for the Friday night Elvis singer, Walking Tacos on Saturday and the Freedom Day parade float have come and gone. Many thanks to everyone who served in any way at these events. You all have a servant’s heart working together to make it happen
Hope and pray you all have a beautiful summer. Happy Fourth of July and God bless America.
Sincerely~ Paula Hinds, President

Greetings Sons,
We have made it through! The busiest time of our year is behind us. I struggle to calculate the number of events we've participated in and helped support.
The shortlist amounts to 1. the Boy Scouts BBQ Bash which was a rousing good time, 2. the Lions concert and Solute to Veterans night, 3. Freedom Days both marching and selling food, 4. Flag Disposal, 5. Induction of Officers, 6. helping to set up for the garage sale, 7. selling food on the 1st weekend of the garage sale, and 8. helping the Elk River Legion post colors at their tractor pull.
I have a quick note on the garage sale. Kevin devotes his entire summer to keeping that running. Even during the week, he's there to receive donations and sort it all out. He can use any help we can give him and I'm thankful for those of you who have stepped up.
Our next meeting will be on July 15th. I hope you will be there to welcome our new members Chris who is a transfer from Post 1 and Will who is a young high schooler and is active within the community. Receiving them is a great addition and we welcome anyone interested in participating.
July is also the start of our membership drive for 2026. Now is the time to renew your dues. They are still $15. If you know of a potential member, please reach out and make an offer. We can always use a few more good men.
We've been busy and I could not be more proud of our turnout. We have made great strides in providing help and fermenting cohesion within the post family and outwardly to other posts. The SAL is really making the grade. Now, rest up and make sure to get your uniforms cleaned, gentlemen.
For God and Country,
Andrew J. Lee SAL Commander
