Commander's Corner

Legionnaires,

It’s the start of a New Year and I hope everybody’s 2025 ended well. We did some good things last year. We ended it by donating 24 turkeys to the Becker Food Shelf. We are still working on improving our building. The SAL have been heading the projects, and they deserve our thanks for all their work.

Our next project is Freedom Days Raffle so we will need volunteers to sell tickets, and also to work on other Freedom Day activities.

I pray for everybody’s good and improved good health. May we all be appreciative of our many blessings of living in a free nation. May we share our gifts with all in need any way we can. Our next meeting is on Jan 13th.SEE YOU THERE!

For God and Country,

Tom Lee

Commander Post 193

Chaplain's Corner

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for our many daily blessings and the gift of Jesus Christ, your Son and our Savior!

I pray Lord that with the New Year, we will be able to stay safe and enjoy your blessings. May we also be blessed to see real leadership in our state leaders as they need to be clarified that we as people of the state hired them, and if unable to do their jobs, should be fired as any employee. You Lord shared with us through Moses and the 10 Commandments; we shall not steal or covet another’s goods.

Thank you, lord for all my blessings and my opportunity to be forgiven as well.

Lord, I pray for a Blessed New Year, joy and happiness for all and only blessings.

God Bless all of you!

God Bless America!

Peace and Love

Chaplain Tim

Auxiliary President's Corner

Auxiliary,

Welcome to the new year Our membership is in full bloom. For the members who are already signed up, please get your dues in as quickly as possible - if you have done so thank you. I am asking our Legion members to ask your wives, sisters, daughters or any other family member that would qualify if they would consider joining our auxiliary.

Our numbers are down and we welcome new members. Either Nellie Simpson or I can get them a form, we can fill it out over the phone and then complete the process with a signature. They could be as involved as they can be. We are a low-pressure type of an organization. Many hands make the work light. Our official meetings will begin again in March 2026. Blessings for a very, very, very prosperous new year. It is also going to be the 250th anniversary of the United States of America.

God bless America.

Sincerely,

Paula Hinds president

Sons of The American Legion

Greetings Sons,

Another year has come and gone. Looking back, I am very proud of what we have accomplished as a squadron. The time, money and effort each of us has donated to the cause has most assuredly made a large impact throughout the post. As an officer and fellow member, I am thankful for each of you and all you bring to the squadron.

Without people like you, our post building would still look like a garage and drab meeting room. If you haven’t been in the bay lately, we are preparing the back area for paint and remodeling. A number of us have scraped the old paint off the north wall while others have been working to sort and organize the donations in preparation for new storage spaces. It is our hope that we can keep the area clean and useable while also housing the DAV and garage sale donations.

Projects like this will allow us to continue doing events and getting back to having an active post for the community. This month, we will be having our monthly Luncheon on Saturday, the 17th. The proceeds will go to the Becker Robotics team. The Assistant Department Service Officer for Minnesota, Jason Storm will be joining us to get to know who we are and what we do for the community. Come by between 11:00 am and 3:30 pm to meet him and have a good meal.

The next County Council meeting will be on Monday the 19th at 7:30 pm at the Zimmerman Legion. Our SAL meeting will follow on Tuesday the 20th at 7:00 pm. I hope to see many of you there to show your support and help spread the word to the surrounding communities of who we are. The SAL are becoming a more prominent face of Post 193 and I would like to have your voices heard.

With the beginning of a new year, there are endless possibilities ahead of each of us. I hope this new year be a sight better than the last for each of you and our Post. Please be safe out there and enjoy the rest of the holiday season. "May each sunrise of the new year bring you hope, and each sunset bring you peace."

For God and Country,

Andrew J. Lee SAL
