Commander's Corner
Legionnaires,
The month has sure been cold for us. Please continue to keep checking on people you know who could be having trouble in these temperatures.
Come to our next meeting on Feb 10th to help with Freedom Days planning. Hopefully we will soon have our website up and running to modernize how we do business.
Membership is still a vital part of our survival. If you know a Vet, we need him or her to become a member to help support our veterans. We are losing Vets, and none are joining. We could be a dying organization. I don’t think anyone wants to see that.
Let us know of any veteran in need.
For God and Country,
Tom Lee

Chaplain's Corner
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for our many blessings this day and every day.
Lord, I pray you bless us as we may be ones to be of service to those in need.
We each may know of others in need, let our prayers be answered in the positive and if not let us be thankful for what you have blessed us with by their presence in our lives. Lord Jesus, I pray You will keep myself focused for your eternal glory that I may be that presence as I share with those, I contact that You have not given up on us or any of those that signed on that dotted line!
Lord, please keep me strong and focused on Your presence and gift with us all in Your Glorious Name!
Peace and Love

Greetings Sons,
I would like to take a moment to talk about something that happened at our last meeting. For those who don't usually attend, we are a mostly agreeable group and most decisions are unanimous. This is a great thing for efficiency and getting through the red tape. Well, for the first time in our squadron's history we recorded a nay vote.
As you can imagine, those who were at the meeting were off put by this. For some context, it wasn't a major issue vote. The shock was from not being in complete agreement. As commander, I took this opportunity to encourage the down vote. We should have disagreement and diversity of thought less we become an echo chamber.
The key to disagreement though, is how you handle it. It should be with honor and respect. Each voice should have their chance to be heard and considered. This deepens discussion and allows the squadron to come to a more firm decision.
In the end, after all sides are considered, the majority rules the decision is made. Everyone might not be content with it but it was talked over and voted on. I made sure that the nay vote stands in our minutes to encourage debate and ensure individuals have the courage to speak up when necessary.
In other news, the next Luncheon will be on February 14th. We’ll be hosting the Becker Soccer Team and Dennie will be making pulled pork sandwiches with coleslaw. The event for the Spring Craft Sale is up on Facebook and hopefully will be on our new website shortly so go and interact with it. And lastly, our next meeting will be on the 17th. Hope to see you there.
For God and Country,
Andrew J. Lee
